NEW INVENTORY - John Dickson & Son Round-Action, made in 1894
12 gauge, patent triggerplate action, side-by-side shotgun

We are very pleased to present this Round-Action, delivered in 1894. The gun is in excellent condition throughout with the full coverage Sumner fine scroll engraving and 'John Dickson & Son' 'Patent' banner engraved on the sides of the action. The action is the pre-1895 shape with cocking indicators, and the very shallow detonators, slightly fuller ribanded fence, lock-pin in the 'widows peak' toplever and the early safety button shape. The lockwork on this gun is immaculate and the whole gun has been carefully maintained over the years. The gun is fitted with a figured replacement stock. The beautiful damascus barrels are again in excellent condition with great measurements and the gun benefits from its original fitted oak and leather makers case.
To prepare the gun for sale we have given it a full service, strip and clean, re-blacked the furniture, re-oiled and polished the woodwork, cleaned out the chequering, and re-browned the barrels to bring out the beautiful figure.
Provenance
Delivered as a single gun in December 1894 to a very successful Scottish nobleman, explore and poet. He also went on to take delivery of a pair of Dickson Round-Actions in 1905.
