John Dickson & Son at 'The Southern'

John Dickson & Son are very pleased to return to the 'The Southern' at Deep River Sporting Clays in North Carolina, April 27th to 30th 2023 . We are bringing a beautiful display of vintage Scottish guns from our stable for sale, which we have prepared in our workshop in Scotland especially for this show. These guns have not been previously advertised and so their first reveal to the public will be at The Southern. A member of the Dickson team will be on hand to talk to you about these guns and the history of Scotland's oldest gunmaker but also about the exciting gun and rifle projects we have underway.

We will also be bringing the renowned Douglas-Home pair of Round-Action guns, their fantastic story is shared here.

As one of the sponsors of the show, and in conjunction with MacNab Fine Firearms, we are very pleased to offer the MacNab / John Dickson & Son Scottish Round-Action Challenge, where participants can shoot the course at Deep River but must use a Scottish made Round-Action. We have acquired this beautiful trophy that has been handcrafted in Scotland to award to the high gun of the Round-Action Challenge. Prominently featuring the wild native Scottish game bird that the Round-Action was designed to shoot, the Red Grouse, the trophy will be on display during the show and awarded on the Sunday afternoon once the results are in. This year we are also bringing a wee dram for the winner with a personalised bottle of Glenfarclas whisky.

We will also be hosting our first Dickson Owners Club gathering of 2023 in collaboration with our friends at Delaney & Sons, this is a private event and separate invites have been sent to DOC USA club members.

If there is something specific you would like to discuss in advance, you can make arrangements through our contact form  here
