December Featured Gun

We have just sourced a beautiful little 20 gauge MacNaughton which benefits from 2 3/4in chambers. Built in 1912, it is one of only seven 20 gauge non-ejector guns that were made by MacNaughton and this one is fully engraved with detailed leaves on the detonators. To find out more, click Here

In the Field

We recently received this great picture of Mr. F putting his MacNaughton 28 gauge Edinburgh Round-Action to full use in fields of South Dakota. His gun was made in Edinburgh in 1895, which he purchased from Dickson's whilst visiting our premises in 2022.

The Last Keeper - Now available on Amazon Prime

Tom Opre, the wildlife conservationist and human rights activist latest project, 'The Last Keeper' is now available on the streaming service, Amazon Prime. This documentary movie follows Opre and his team as they traverse Scotland, engaging with individuals on all sides of the land use debate - from estate owners, keepers and members of local communities to environmental NGOs, politicians and proponents of rewilding. More than 190 hours of footage captured the struggles, aspirations, and personal stories of those deeply entrenched in the issue. The movie was produced with support from the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) Scotland, providing extensive research, people access and locations to support a compelling story. John Dickson & Son were very privileged to be involved in this project, and urge all our customers to watch this movie which provides an excellent insight into the difficult subject of conflict surrounding land use in Scotland.
