Official re-opening of John Dickson & Son

In line with current Scottish government guidance, our business will officially re-open in a normal operating capacity on Monday 26th April 2021. We will be initially working a reduced week, the shop only open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9am to 5pm but will look to review this once we can gauge customer attendance of our site in Dunkeld.

May we please remind you that:

You must call ahead if there is something specific you require, especially when purchasing ammunition.

There will be no public access to the workshop. We will only be available to meet with customers through the main shop.

It is strictly one customer at a time in the shop and we will be observing a 2-metre social distancing rule with the customer at all times. All staff will have hand sanitiser, wipes and masks to hand.

Please bring a mask as it is mandatory to wear it - if you forget it, we will happily provide one.

Vintage Gun Inventory Update

Our vintage gun inventory page is updated regularly, which you can view here.

We continue to have a heavy focus on the names we own but also quality Scottish guns generally. Three particular guns of interest this month are all boxlock's - a J. R. Gow & Sons of Dundee, an Alex Martin and a J. Dickson & Son. All guns we offer for sale have been through the workshop and meticulously prepared for sale by our team of gunmakers.

The Southern Side by Side Championship & Exhibition

Deep River Sporting Clays, North Carolina

April 22-25, 2021

We are deeply disappointed that we are unable to travel to attend this great event for a second year running. However, our good friends at Delaney & Sons will be hosting any Dickson Owners Club members who can attend on Friday, April 23rd at 5:00pm. Have a wee dram of Scottish spring water and get to know other DOC members. Feel free to bring your gun for a show-and-tell and collect a special gift from us that is exclusive to Owners club members. 

In conjunction with Macnab Fine Firearms, we will be sponsoring the Scottish Round-Action Challenge - a great opportunity for you to shoot the 48-bird Deep River Course with your Dickson, MacNaughton or McKay Brown Round-Action gun. High gun for the weekend will pick up a trophy.
