SOLD - John Dickson & Son Round-Action, made in 1896

12 Gauge, patent triggerplate action, side-by-side shotgun

This single vintage Round-Action was delivered in July 1896 to a merchant who lived in Edinburgh. Marked with Patent Use Number 575, its the 575th patent-gun made in the Round-Actions 141 year history. The action has the traditional scroll engraving for the period and the chiseled dandelion detonators that were a characteristic feature during a period of only two years.

At some point in the last 126 years of service, the barrels have been sleeved but giving it a new lease of life with the benefit of 2 3/4in chambers. The action has crisp engraving and is in fine condition inside and out and fitted with a very highly figured stock.

The gun is currently going through a sympathetic restoration in order to prepare it for sale. We have priced the gun to reflect its condition and it would be a perfect way to get into owning your first Round-Action.
