John Dickson & Son Round-Action, made in 1894
12 Gauge, patent triggerplate action, side-by-side shotgun
£12,500
The action has the period style tight Sumner scroll with the John Dickson & Son Patent banner on the sides of the action and is fitted with a well figured stock. The gun has 29 inch steel barrels, which measure very well.
Overall, the gun is in good condition inside and out and is a great example of an early action gun with the shallow rimmed detonators and swept out fence, but no cocking indicators.
The gun is currently going through a full sympathetic restoration in order to prepare it for sale.
Provenance
Delivered as a single gun in August 1894 for a member of a well-known family of Solicitors in Edinburgh.
